About Us
BlueQ Consulting has a rich heritage going back over 20 years.
Quest was formed in 1986 as a specialist recruiter for IT vendors, and in 1995 David Reading became a partner in the company and became the sole owner in 2001. Over that 15 years the company developed its client relationships and grew its candidate database. In 2001 with the emergence of the Internet as a communications resource and the rise of the Internet Job Boards, new methodologies were developed by Quest to provide enhanced recruitment solutions.
e*Recruitment
The launch of e*Recruitment in 2000 was the first time that very low cost short-listing services were offered in Australia. This process has been continuously refined since that time and remains an important part of Blue Q Consulting techniques.
Automated Referral Strategies
Referrals have always been an essential component of the Recruitment process. The advent of the Internet meant that referral requests could be rapidly released to large numbers of key contacts in the target sector. Quest introduced this technique in 2001 and gradually it was further refined in the WhoYouKnow contact network and the related Referrals Job Board.
Ian Rowe then joined the company, which was renamed BlueQ, and David Reading was now able to focus on his business consulting activities.
Ian Rowe
Managing Director of Blue Q Consulting.
Ian's early background in Digital Technology has proven invaluable in providing recruitment services to this high growth industry sector. In addition his initial experience working in technical support enabled Ian to appreciate the demands of the IT community.
Ian travelled in Asia before arriving and settling in Australia in 2000. His enthusiasm for travel re-emerged in 2002 and this time he and his wife spent two years touring across Europe with a young son. This developed his appreciation of many cultures and that experience is put to great use in the recruitment sector
